January 10, 2017

Clemson won the rematch with Alabama last night (January 9th) for the national title in the College Football Playoff championship game, beating the top-ranked, defending-champion Crimson Tide 35-31 on a two-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Deshaun Watson to Hunter Renfrow with one second left.

The title is the first in 35 years for the Tigers, who were ranked Number Two.

Watson, a junior who was playing in his final college game, threw for 420 yards and three touchdowns, while also getting sacked four times.
