Elton John Is Recovering from a "Rare and Potentially Deadly" Infection

ELTON JOHN canceled nine upcoming shows, including his remaining dates at Caesar's Palace in Vegas because of a rare infection that almost killed him!

He recently performed a series of shows in South America, and he became "violently ill" on the flight back.  As it turned out, he'd contracted a "harmful and unusual" bacterial infection.

His rep says, quote, "His doctors admitted him to the hospital, where he underwent immediate treatment to remove the infection . . . Infections of this nature are rare and potentially deadly."

Fortunately, it sounds like Elton will be all right.  He was discharged on Saturday, and is now resting at home, where he's expected to make a full recovery.

Erin Moran Probably Died of Throat Cancer

ERIN MORAN from "Happy Days" had cancer.

The medical examiner said, quote, "[An] autopsy revealed that [she] likely succumbed to complications of Stage Four cancer."  The statement didn't specify what type of cancer she had, but last night ANSON WILLIAMS who played Potsie on "Happy Days", says it was throat cancer.

Erin was just 56 years old when she died on Saturday at the trailer in Indiana where she was living with her husband.

The medical examiner stopped short of naming cancer as the cause of death because the toxicology tests are still pending.  No illegal drugs were found in her home.

Bill O'Reilly is Back . . . Online

BILL O'REILLY is back, but not on Fox News.

He's now doing nightly newscasts on BillOReilly.com.  It's free to everyone this week, but you'll have to become a premium member of the website after that.

He started things off with a quick 19-minute post last night where he talked about his situation with Fox News, although he didn't get into specifics, for legal reasons.

He said, quote, "I can tell you that I'm very confident the truth will come out, and when it does, I don't know if you're going to be surprised, but I think you're going to be shaken, as I am.  There's a lot of stuff involved here."

TUCKER CARLSON officially took over Bill's timeslot yesterday, and opened his show with a little tribute.
