How To Instantly Beat Your Neighbor's Christmas Lights

A family in Detroit realized they couldn't compete with their neighbor's holiday light display.

So, they did the next best thing.  Instead of trying to outdo her neighbor, JAMI KELLY took a flat board and some white lights and spelled out the word "Ditto" with an arrow pointing toward her neighbor's home.

The 34-year-old mom says her neighbor's elaborate setup includes a giant snow globe, multiple reindeer, and a huge polar bear on the roof and countless twinkling lights. She adds, "Nothing measures up."

Someone Bought Dozens of Christmas Trees, and Gave Them Away for Free

There's a Catholic elementary school in Columbus, Ohio called St. Mary that raises money each year by selling Christmas trees.

Some of the money goes to charity, and some of it pays for stuff like field trips and school supplies.  They've been doing it for over 40 years, but apparently THIS has never happened before . . .

On Monday afternoon, some guy pulled up in his car and said he wanted to buy ALL of their trees.  It's not clear how much he spent, but they still had dozens of trees left that were going for about $50 each.  So that's at least a couple thousand bucks.

He didn't take them with him though.  Instead, he told them to KEEP all of the trees, and give them away for FREE to anybody who needed one.  So they posted a message about “Free Christmas Trees” on their Facebook page, and all of the trees were gone within 24 hours.

One woman talked to the local news and said she wasn't planning to get a tree this year, because she couldn't afford it.  But she rushed over as soon as she saw the Facebook post, and they still had a few left.

A News Anchor Crashed a Scooter on Live TV

A local news show in Los Angeles did a segment on Tuesday about a bunch of hot Christmas gifts.

And one of them was an electric scooter that an anchor named Lisa Breckenridge got to ride around the studio.

She had a little trouble controlling it though.  Lisa ended up crashing into a TV, and then the TV fell over and LANDED on her.

She posted an Instagram photo from the back of an ambulance later on, but she's okay.
