Parents Name Their Baby “Eclipse”

A couple in Greenville, South Carolina, decided to name their baby Eclipse in honor of the rare astronomical event marking their little girl’s birth Monday.

Parents Freedom and Paul Eubanks welcomed baby Eclipse to the world at 8:04 a.m. at Greenville Memorial Hospital in South Carolina. The healthy baby entered the world weighing 6 pounds, 3 ounces and measuring 19 inches in length.

The decision to legally name her Eclipse was done at the last minute. Paul and Freedom initially chose the name Violet, but apparently she showed up two weeks early, so they went with Eclipse.

“I kind of felt like it was meant to happen, to have her on this day,” her mother said.  “We’re probably going to call her Clipsey,” Freedom said.

Eclipse has one sibling, an older sister, who’s 2 years old.

A Woman Gets Stuck in a Pool and Is Rescued Thanks to Facebook

Hey look at this, it's a situation where Facebook made someone's life BETTER.  I didn't know that was possible.

A 61-year-old woman named Leslie Kahn from Epping, New Hampshire was swimming in her pool when the ladder broke.  She wasn't strong enough to pull herself out, no one was home, and her phone was inside the house.

But her iPad was on a chair by the pool.  So Leslie grabbed the pool cleaning pole, used it to drag the chair closer, grabbed her iPad, and hopped on Facebook to post a message asking for help.

Two of her neighbors saw it and went to her house.  They also called the police who pulled her out of the pool.

A Car Thief Pulled Over to Watch the Eclipse . . . and Got Arrested

Millions of people stopped in the middle of their jobs yesterday to watch the eclipse, and this guy was no exception, even if his "job" isn't exactly a traditional one.

22-year-old Jocsan Rosado stole a car in Kissimmee, Florida yesterday, and apparently he didn't realize the cops were trailing him.

Because as he drove away, he made a quick pit stop into a hardware store to buy a welder's mask to use to check out the eclipse.  Experts say you can use a welder's mask to view an eclipse . . . but only if they're a shade 12 or darker.

He put it on, and as he watched the sky, the cops moved in and arrested him.
