Ryan Lochte -- Swimming in a Pool of his Own Deceit

August 19, 2016

Yesterday, Brazilian police announced that Ryan Lochte and 3 other American swimmers weren't robbed at gunpoint as they had claimed.

Instead, police have video proof that the swimmers were drunk and had vandalized a gas station bathroom-- pulling signs off the walls, and breaking a door, soap dispenser and a mirror.

That’s when they were questioned by armed guards and had to pay cash for the damages to the restroom before being released.

Yesterday, authorities let 2 of the swimmers, Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger, leave Brazil to return to the U.S. after they admitted to the police that Ryan Lochte had lied about what had happened.

Police are considering bringing charges of falsely reporting a crime and destruction of property.

It’s believed Ryan Lochte lied to prevent his new girlfriend from finding out that he was cheating on her.

The U.S. Olympic Committee issued a statement saying, "We apologize to our hosts in Rio and the people of Brazil for this distracting ordeal in the midst of what should rightly be a celebration of excellence."
