The Tree from "The Shawshank Redemption" is Gone

The tree where Red finds Andy's note at the end of "The Shawshank Redemption" is no more.

The oak had stood in a field in Mansfield, Ohio for 200 years.  But it was rotting in the middle, and in 2011, part of it was knocked down during a storm.  It suffered even more damage in a storm last summer.

So owner Dan Dees finally got rid of what was left of it, so he could use the field for farming.  He's had offers for the wood, but he says that he wants to make a table or a bench for keepsake.

Here's the scene we are talking about...

Gordon Ramsay Says His Kids Will Not Inherit His Fortune

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay says he won’t leave his fortune to his children because he thinks it could “ruin them.”

Ramsay has 3 teenagers and an estimated net worth of $140 million but says that his kids will have to make their own way in life. “

He claims that he doesn’t want to spoil his kids and wants them to earn everything they get.  As a matter of fact, he doesn’t even let his kids sit with him in first class on airplanes, saying they, quote, “haven’t worked hard enough” to deserve it yet.

No word on what Ramsay actually plans to do with his money upon his death.
